2020 – the year that nobody expected
As we look back to the start of 2020 DB Cargo UK (DBC UK) had an optimistic year ahead which involved plans to further improve and grow the business. Suddenly this all changed and the main focus became adopting new and innovative ways of working to keep our colleagues safe, maintain our rail freight operations and keep our customers happy.
DBC UK has introduced and embraced many different ways of working for all of its colleagues. Whether that’s been adapting to working from home or to how our engineers, ground staff, train drivers and everyone else who works on the DBC UK network have performed day-to-day tasks; they have all quickly found new ways to work safely and still deliver and maintain services for our customers.
The pandemic has highlighted the critical role rail freight has to play in keeping businesses, communities and the economy moving. This is reflected in the success with existing contracts being extended and new contracts to add to the DBC UK portfolio.
